Turkey eSIM vs roaming: how to compare

Turkey eSIM plans

Why Turkey needs a separate check

Turkey is not part of the EU or EEA, so EU roam-like-at-home rules do not apply there. Whether roaming works, what it costs and what fair-use or daily caps apply depends on your operator and your tariff.

Ask your operator

• Is Turkey included in my tariff, and under which roaming zone?
• What is the price per MB, per day or per bundle, in my billing currency?
• Is there a cap or a throttle, and does it apply per day or per trip?
• Which Turkish networks will my phone attach to?
• Do I still get calls and SMS, and what do they cost?

What the eSIM offers instead

A fixed EUR price per plan, a fixed allowance and a fixed validity, with supplier-listed Vodafone 5G and Türk Telekom 5G networks. It is data only and has no Turkish phone number. Keep your home SIM active for calls and SMS if you need them.
