Turkey eSIM activation rules: install before you fly

Install on Wi-Fi before departure, then connect in Turkey. For the current Volt Turkey packages, the validity clock starts at the first connection to a supported local network.

Choose your Turkey data package

Your trip, your data, your budget. Choose a package below and buy at a clear final EUR price, with two-network access on selected plans. All packages are data-only, without a Turkish phone number.

Validity starts on first connection to a supported network in Turkey. Check compatibility and carrier unlock before paying. Review the amount and terms at checkout. Already paid but not connected? Use the troubleshooting steps below before buying again.

One eSIM. Two network options for your Turkey trip.

Explore Turkey with access to Vodafone and Türk Telekom on our 1, 3, 10 and 20 GB plans. Unlike a single-network package, you have another supported network to select where available if reception on one is poor. Choose the flexibility of two networks for your journey, or our 5 GB Vodafone-only option.

Enjoy 5G where available on a compatible phone, with 4G and 3G connectivity according to local coverage. Pick your GB, see your final EUR price and install before you fly. Network choice gives you flexibility; actual speeds depend on your location, device and network conditions.

Installation is not the same as starting your days

The five current Turkey packages use first-network-connection activation. Downloading the eSIM profile over Wi-Fi prepares your phone; the package validity begins when the eSIM first connects to a supported network at the destination. We checked this package setting on 25 October 2026.

Choose the start of your trip carefully: turning the line off after activation does not pause its validity. The 1 GB plan lasts 7 days, 3 GB lasts 15 days, and 5, 10 and 20 GB last 30 days. A larger allowance is not a different activation method.

Prepare your phone before paying

Check the exact phone model for eSIM support and confirm it is carrier-unlocked. Keep a working Wi-Fi connection available for installation. When payment is confirmed and the eSIM is ready, open the QR and installation details in your Volt Mobile account.

Follow the instructions for your device. If you are reading the QR on the same phone, use the available installation or manual-entry instructions rather than repeatedly scanning a screenshot. Keep the QR private and do not delete the profile after a successful installation.

Switch the right line on after landing

Select the Turkey eSIM for mobile data and follow its data-roaming instructions. Leave home-SIM data roaming off, and check automatic mobile-data switching so your phone does not fall back to the home line unexpectedly.

The supported networks vary by package: the 5 GB option lists Vodafone only; the others list Vodafone and Türk Telekom. Signal and speed depend on your location and device. Allow the phone time to register before trying a manual network selection.

Buying ahead and changing plans

The current packages allow 180 days before activation. This is the unused activation window, not 180 days of mobile data. If your trip moves beyond that window, contact support before assuming the package can still be used.

Activation settings do not replace Volt Mobile’s purchase and refund terms. Read those terms before payment. For a short visit, compare 1 GB and 3 GB; for heavier use, compare 10 GB or 20 GB. Buy for the data you expect to use, not just the number of travel days.

Keep control of the data line

On iPhone, open Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data), select the Turkey line and check that it is on. Select that line under Cellular Data and turn off Allow Cellular Data Switching if you do not want fallback to your home line. On Pixel, open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs and choose the Turkey SIM for mobile data. On Samsung Galaxy, look under Settings → Connections → SIM manager. Menu labels vary by model and software. Enable roaming only as instructed for the travel line; leave home-SIM data roaming off.

Check readiness without starting a second order

Before leaving home, confirm that the eSIM appears in settings and that you can open your account and installation instructions. An installed profile without a Turkish signal at home is not by itself a failure. Do not repeatedly scan the QR to check it: some profiles cannot be installed again.

After arrival, select the travel line, follow its roaming instructions and test a small page with Wi-Fi off. If it fails, work through the connection checklist rather than deleting the profile. Before flying home, switch mobile data back to the appropriate line; turning off an activated Turkey line does not pause its validity.
