Metro, tram and airport coach corridors
Use mobile data for Google Maps, BiTaksi and Uber where their services are available, and for Istanbulkart information or supported account features. These apps may require an existing account, payment method or SMS verification. Your data-only eSIM does not include a Turkish number, transport tickets or an Istanbulkart balance. Save offline maps for tunnels and underground platforms.

Airport transfers by metro and coach
Use M11 metro or Havaist from IST, and M4 metro or Havabus from SAW. Check current interchanges and operator timetables for Sultanahmet, Beyoğlu/Galata and Kadıköy.
What uses data on the way
Google Maps navigation, taxi and ride apps such as BiTaksi and Uber, Istanbulkart top-ups and ferry timetables all need a connection. App availability and rules change, so check each app before you rely on it.
Download offline maps before you leave the arrivals hall, and keep your accommodation address saved as text.
Switch on before you leave the terminal
Install the eSIM at home, then switch the Turkey line on after landing so ride apps and hotel messages work from the first minute.
Which plan to pick
The 1 GB plan lasts 7 days and suits a short stay with maps and messages. The 3 GB plan lasts 15 days. The 5 GB, 10 GB and 20 GB plans last 30 days. Turkey plans are data only: no Turkish phone number or calling allowance is included, and the free trial is available for Albania only.
Network and device information
Plan details updated 2026-10-17. Coverage and speeds vary by location and device. Check compatibility and save your transfer details before travelling.
Network names are the supplier listing per plan: 5 GB lists Vodafone 5G only; the others list Vodafone 5G and Türk Telekom 5G. Speed, signal and indoor coverage vary by place, building and device.
