Activate Your Cappadocia eSIM Before You Fly

Install your Volt Mobile eSIM QR code before departure, so you can get online after landing at Nevşehir Kapadokya (NAV) or Kayseri Erkilet (ASR) without looking for a physical SIM. Data can be especially useful for navigation and confirming shuttle pickups on late arrivals.

Why set up the eSIM before departure?

Landing with your eSIM already installed keeps the first part of your trip simpler. Instead of queueing for a physical SIM, you can switch to your travel data line when you are ready to connect and check directions to Göreme, Uçhisar or Ürgüp.

Coverage varies by place and building, and cave hotels and valleys can have weaker indoor signal.

Pre-flight eSIM checklist

1. Check that your phone is unlocked and supports eSIM. 2. Choose a Turkey data plan and keep the QR code or installation details accessible. 3. Connect to reliable Wi-Fi before you leave. 4. Scan the QR code and follow the on-screen installation steps before departure.

5. Label the new eSIM clearly, such as “Turkey data”, so it is easy to select later. 6. Check your phone settings for the mobile-data line and follow the eSIM instructions for data roaming settings. 7. Keep your regular SIM selected for calls if needed: these plans provide data only and do not include a Turkish phone number.

Choose data for maps, messages and pickups

For lighter use, plan around 150 MB a day. Around 400 MB a day suits more regular maps and messaging use, while 1000 MB a day gives more room for heavier data use. Available options are 1 GB for 7 days (€1.39), 3 GB for 15 days (€3.99), 5 GB for 30 days (€6.99, Vodafone 5G only), 10 GB for 30 days (€9.99), and 20 GB for 30 days (€22.99).

Vodafone 5G and Türk Telekom 5G are supplier-listed networks, not a coverage guarantee. Turkey is outside the EU/EEA, so travellers should also check their own operator’s tariff before travelling.

Choose data for 3 days

Estimate your data use for maps, messages and video, then choose your Turkey plan. Actual usage depends on your apps and Wi-Fi availability.

  • Light use (150 MB a day, about 0.45 GB in total): 1 GB Turkey, €1.39, 1 GB for 7 days.
  • Moderate use (400 MB a day, about 1.2 GB in total): 3 GB Turkey, €3.99, 3 GB for 15 days.
  • Heavy use (1000 MB a day, about 3 GB in total): 3 GB Turkey, €3.99, 3 GB for 15 days.
