Set Up Your Göreme eSIM Before You Fly

Install your Volt Mobile eSIM while you still have a reliable connection before departure. That way, you can try to connect after landing at Nevşehir Kapadokya (NAV) or Kayseri Erkilet (ASR) without joining a queue for a physical SIM.

Why scan the QR code before departure?

An eSIM is easiest to install when you have dependable Wi-Fi and time to read each phone prompt. Save the QR code and complete the installation before your flight, rather than attempting the setup with limited connectivity after arrival.

Göreme is a base town in Cappadocia served by Nevşehir Kapadokya (NAV) and Kayseri Erkilet (ASR). Having the eSIM installed in advance can make it simpler to use mobile data when you arrive, without looking for a physical SIM seller first.

Your pre-flight activation checklist

1. Check that your phone is unlocked and supports eSIM. 2. Buy the data-only plan you want; these plans do not include a Turkish phone number. 3. Open the delivery email or QR code while connected to Wi-Fi, then add the eSIM in your phone settings.

4. Keep your primary SIM available for calls if needed, but set the Volt Mobile eSIM as the line for mobile data when you are ready to use it. 5. Review the plan instructions for activation and data settings before flying. 6. Download offline maps before going out, and confirm shuttle pickup details with your accommodation.

Take a screenshot or save the QR and installation details somewhere accessible offline. This gives you a backup if you need to review the setup after landing.

Choose data with your Göreme plans in mind

For light use, 1 GB for 7 days is available for €1.39; 3 GB for 15 days costs €3.99. For longer stays or more frequent map use, choose 5 GB for 30 days on Vodafone 5G for €6.99, 10 GB for 30 days for €9.99, or 20 GB for 30 days for €22.99.

As a rough planning guide, allow around 150 MB a day for light use, 400 MB a day for regular use, or 1000 MB a day for heavier use. Available network listings are Vodafone 5G and Türk Telekom 5G; network names reflect supplier listings, not a coverage guarantee.

Coverage varies by place and building; cave hotels can have weaker indoor signal. Turkey is outside the EU/EEA, so check your own operator’s tariff before relying on your usual SIM.

Choose data for 3 days

Estimate your data use for maps, messages and video, then choose your Turkey plan. Actual usage depends on your apps and Wi-Fi availability.

  • Light use (150 MB a day, about 0.45 GB in total): 1 GB Turkey, €1.39, 1 GB for 7 days.
  • Moderate use (400 MB a day, about 1.2 GB in total): 3 GB Turkey, €3.99, 3 GB for 15 days.
  • Heavy use (1000 MB a day, about 3 GB in total): 3 GB Turkey, €3.99, 3 GB for 15 days.
