Turkey answers: Izmir
Plan data for a three-day Izmir weekend
A short break in Izmir can still involve plenty of map checks, messages and last-minute searches. Pace your data around arrival at Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB), a full day in central Izmir or along the Aegean coast, and departure.

Day 1: Arrive with the essentials ready
Keep your first-day use focused on practical tasks: checking directions, confirming plans, messaging fellow travellers and looking up what you need after landing at ADB. A light-use allowance of around 150 MB a day can suit this arrival rhythm if you limit video and large uploads.
Coverage varies by place and building. Vodafone 5G and Türk Telekom 5G are supplier listings, rather than a promise of service in every location.
Day 2: Allow more data for your full day
Your main exploring day is usually where data use rises. For central Izmir and the Aegean coast, maps, browsing, shared photos and regular messaging can move a traveller closer to 400 MB a day; heavier use with frequent media can reach about 1000 MB a day.
For a three-day visit, 1 GB for 7 days costs €1.39 and suits very restrained use. More room comes with 3 GB for 15 days at €3.99, while 5 GB for 30 days is €6.99 and is Vodafone 5G only. These are data plans only, with no Turkish phone number included.
Day 3: Leave enough for departure
Save a little data for checkout messages, final navigation and travel updates on departure day. Turning off automatic app updates and backing up photos on Wi-Fi where available can help keep your remaining allowance for the moments when you need it.
For travellers who expect heavier use or want a larger buffer, 10 GB for 30 days costs €9.99 and 20 GB for 30 days costs €22.99. Turkey is outside the EU/EEA, so check your own operator's tariff before travelling.
Choose data for 3 days
Estimate your data use for maps, messages and video, then choose your Turkey plan. Actual usage depends on your apps and Wi-Fi availability.
- Light use (150 MB a day, about 0.45 GB in total): 1 GB Turkey, €1.39, 1 GB for 7 days.
- Moderate use (400 MB a day, about 1.2 GB in total): 3 GB Turkey, €3.99, 3 GB for 15 days.
- Heavy use (1000 MB a day, about 3 GB in total): 3 GB Turkey, €3.99, 3 GB for 15 days.
