Avoid surprise roaming charges in Izmir

Turkey eSIM plans

Set your eSIM as the data line

After installing your eSIM, choose it as the line for mobile data in your phone settings. Keep your home SIM active only if you need it for calls or messages, but turn off data roaming on that home line.

At Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB), in central Izmir, or elsewhere in the area, check that mobile data is assigned to the eSIM before you start browsing, using maps or uploading photos. The Volt Mobile eSIM is data-only and does not include a Turkish phone number.

Watch your network selection on the Aegean coast

On the Aegean coast, do not rely blindly on automatic network selection: your phone may connect to a Greek island network. Open network selection manually and choose Vodafone TR or Türk Telekom instead when available.

Vodafone 5G and Türk Telekom 5G are supplier listings, not a coverage guarantee. coverage varies by place and building.

Choose data for the way you use your phone

For light use, plan around 150 MB a day; regular browsing and navigation can fit around 400 MB a day, while heavier use may reach 1000 MB a day. Check your remaining data in your eSIM account rather than assuming your home allowance applies in Turkey.

Available options are 1 GB for 7 days at €1.39, 3 GB for 15 days at €3.99, 5 GB for 30 days at €6.99 on Vodafone 5G only, 10 GB for 30 days at €9.99, and 20 GB for 30 days at €22.99. Keeping the eSIM as your data line and home-SIM data roaming switched off is the simple habit to maintain throughout your trip.

Choose data for 7 days

Estimate your data use for maps, messages and video, then choose your Turkey plan. Actual usage depends on your apps and Wi-Fi availability.

• Light use (150 MB a day, about 1.05 GB in total): 3 GB Turkey, €3.99, 3 GB for 15 days.
